Response to Mono-Energetic Neutrons and Light Output Function for Liquid Organic Scintillators PYR5/DIPN and THIO5/DIPN

Liquid organic scintillators are important devices for measurements of neutron radiation. Currently, large-scale liquid have capabilities detecting neutrons, but the determination energy spectra is a challenge. This work aims to measure responses two two-component mono-energetic radiation and determine their light output function, which necessary proper determination. Both composed solvent di-iso-propyl-naphthalene (DIPN) mixed isomers. The first scintillator, labeled PYR5/DIPN, contains luminophore 1-phenyl-3-(2,4,6-trimethyl-phenyl)-2-pyrazoline with concentration 5 g/L. second scintillator THIO5/DIPN 2,5-bis(5-tert-butyl-benzoxazol-2-yl)thiophene also energies 1.5 MeV, 2.5 19 MeV measured at PTB in Braunschweig. 2.45 14 were CTU Prague using DD DT reactions. silicon filtered beam Research Centre ?ež. processed two-parameter spectrometric system NGA-01 discriminate neutrons from gamma rays. obtained dominated by recoil protons elastic collisions hydrogen atoms. edge response gives information about compared rays same energy. function PYR5/DIPN L(Ep)=0.6294Ep?1.00(1?exp(?0.4933Ep0.95)).
